Pastoral Care and Prayer

Pastoral Care

“let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24)

In ICL, we very much believe in our supporting one another. For those in Connect Groups or the student group, fellow group members and the group leaders are a great first connect point for any pastoral concerns.

We know that sometimes someone may sense a need to talk with someone else. Christina Hoogkamer is our Pastoral Care Co-ordinator. Christina is trained in Biblical counselling and gives some of her week voluntarily to help within ICL. Christina co-ordinates sorting out appointments, which may be with her, someone else on the pastoral care team or the eldership team.

If you would like to speak with someone about any matter, please contact Christina initially.  Christina can be emailed via

In the Bible it is written, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful” (Colossians 4:2). Underlying our community life is a desire to have Jesus Christ at the centre of our lives. Prayer is a vital part of this, both individually and together.

Prayer happens every week at 10.30am at the school. It takes place in our Connect Groups. There are also regular monthly prayer gatherings where we pray for topics like the city and the nation.

At times, we have a night of worship and prayer and also during the year, we seek to have weeks of prayer and fasting.

We believe that we can all pray for one another but we also have a Prayer Ministry Team available who have done some simple training about praying for others. The team is available on Sundays.

If you have any prayer requests, these can be sent to:
